If the post is integrated well into the content of the blog, you can get great traffic (as long as the blog is well read). You can also get a great SEO benefit from the link, and the content of the post can improve your site's reputation online
Biggest advantage is that unlike directory or footer links, blog post links appear natural links. Forget about search engines; it is even difficult for humans to differentiate between natural and paid blog links.
I agree with all of you guys. Links embedded in an article is more favored by google. In addition to that, blog are often crawled and a link from it can speed up being indexed.
Another advantage is one can link with any kind of anchor text (including long sentences) while blogging, which is not possible while buying footer links, directory links etc.
i puted Rss feeds of news on my blog the1source.blogspot.com i belive the text of the news will be indexed by google, isnt it? and also its nice to have some news on your blog
But don't get fooled by permanent PR ???? links with blog posts. Remember, as they ad new blogs, your blog moves down pretty quickly. But yeah if the blog is right, you can get traffic.
