    Hello everyone,

I have a very important SEO question about paid backlinks. I always thought that paying for your link to be put onto someone else's site is a BIG NO NO... Mostly for Google.

But there's so many people who do it or rent out their HIGH PR Blogs to people wanting to pay a fee to get their websites link on them. Not only that theirs so many services out there that are HUGE like text link adds that do this as well.

Before I start doing this myself I wanted to get some advice about the subject from some of you guys and gals.

    thanks for any advice!

If Google finds out then you would get either pr drop or pulled down Google rankings. However If you look at selling in content text links, they are far more difficult for Google to prove they have been sold. All in all just use your common sense.

    Good luck with everything.

its hard to believe that everyone is so scared to buy links, because it is so common... the big problem is that google is all powerful and being banned from the rankings would be terrible. my advice is to not buy or sell links, just build them naturally

I know what Google says about buying links, but personally I do not know and have not heard of anyone who can prove that they have been penalized by Google for doing so.
If you think about it isn't the Yahoo directory a paid link? "$300 non refundable" and Google puts a lot of weight on this directory. Also many other directories that Google likes are all paid. So how can buying links be a penalty?

Basically Google does not want you to as they have no way to know if the IBL is paid or not, so they ask you not to as it messes with their PR.
They also ask webmasters who sell links to add a rel="nofollow" attribute to this link for the same reason.

With that in mind you have to ask yourself if it is worth the chance. Personally I do not buy links but I know people who do and have good results from it.

I will not recommend buying links. Produce Quality post or content and people will link to you for free.

It all boils down to quality post or content.
