Do you think its right for forum owners to pay for their activity - in order to look good with their fellow owners and such? We all know some owners like to use shady tactics such as this one in order to make their community look bigger than it already is, but how do you guys feel about forum owners paying for actiivty?

It's an okay idea. It can work..it can fail. If it's done during a sale and the buyer isn't notified then yes that's shady. It's happened to me once or twice on a buy but I just wanted the content. Most forums are sold when they are dead and activity can easily be artificially inflated.

Paying for activity to keep the site active and moving can work. I believe in giving members incentive to post. It doesn't have to be cash though. You can find other incentives to work with.
