A really interesting SEO case study done at Search Engine Land gets into the particulars of seeking out and optimising for common synonyms, abbreviations and alternate words used in search phrases for a given niche (in the example, it's a laser eye surgery clinic, but the points and premises carry over to virtually any other niche of which one could think.) It even goes into finding and optimising for common mis-spellings.

Full article is here. Hope to stir some discussion on this oft-overlooked part of SEO.

    Thanks for the resource, Frank!

This fits in well with my understanding of the searcher life cycle, where a searcher moves from awareness -> research -> selection -> purchase.
