@ zinni & constance, what size does diigtalpoint use? as i like the size their using.

Can i get a copy of how the favicon will look without the background matching?
Like no background, just the letters & style

Tell me some and i'll try and make it work for ya... but only if you like the concepts please...

 

@getprocash - 16 x 16 is the size of favicons. It's just you need a 32 x 32 as well for other browsers that don't support the standard (I think like Netscape and stuff but I'm not sure). DP uses 16 x 16 favicons like every other website. The thing about favicons is it's such a very small canvas...the design has to be bicubical or it will look really blurry (text for instance), which is why it's hard to put an entire word on a favicon because it's so small.

One or two letters or a business entity logo or design (like DP's) is what your aiming for. And the more you use a custom favicon, the more popular your site will be (Google's Favicon and Twitter are good examples), which is why I think an "eP" type favicon is the best for your website.

I researched this earlier but I'm sure somebody will back me up on this info. This is my first time doing favicons in 3 years but sure I'll post the mods shortly.

Well, on the favicon you did

You see the final banner you did for me, you know that "E" that looks like an internet explorer E , i need that style & looks of that "E" & the "P" as the favicon on a 16x16 basic

Try to get it look good if best as possible as i think it would match perfectly ^_^

Because the main reason i started the favicon was to choose who is the best wins, but zinni favicon is good!, & contance logo is good! , & the other 2 spend alot of hard work with pretty good ones.

Well this is your contest it's all on your tastes we just try to do our best with our abilities. It's been a while since I've done them so I'm no good with those. I aim for your logo and if your looking at somebody else's favicon, I see no harm in awarding THAT person that prize in respect to the contest.

Branding your company can always be difficult, but it's still YOUR contest, your website. We can't be mad at your decision and I had fun battling but favicons I need more experience on those.

My recommendation is spliting the favicon part in a separate contest apart from this one, because there are alot of people at DP who can make favicons for your logo, it doesn't have to necessarily be us. Get the PSD files from the logo winner because people can use those as reference marks to make the perfect favicon. More competition, more to choose from.

Also @ constance, I'm not paying the same amount even if the other 2 contest are hosted as i can pay more but not too much more as i can't pay too much for design, prob $50-100 more & thats about it.

 

i'm not agree with either Constance or getprocash. i have rights to write something honest because i'm also

one of the finalist. so here we go,

@Constance- your recommendation seems to me selfish. because it does't matter if you're not good at

favicon that you write like this after Posting samples here. and CH likes my Favicon. and also no need to

write yourself that you've done alot of changes in logo/banner because you, CH and everyone in this thread

knows very well it's not only you but me also. we both done lot's of changes till end. but i didn't write like that

in running contest. and btw i don't know why you use 2 different gradients in one word "Promote". it seems

unprofessional. i write like this because it's enough for me to see your showoff here. also consider your

logo/banner size also in KB. your last 2 designs are more than 200kb. and might be heavy to fully load at

website. check mine banners sizes all versions are under 40kb and animation in Professional manner.

otherwise nice try to give some competition.

@getprocash - i like to suggest you both honest way to finish this contest in this thread only rather than

create 2 more new contests regarding this thread.

(1) About Split the Prize - yes, you can split the full contest prize between us 4. as you thinking good

that we are hard working and try many times to giving your liking design. so you can split total contest prize

(banner/logo $70+Favicon $25) $95 to $23.75 each. and you will get files from all 4 and get 4 iTraders as well

; ) i can give you my all logo/banner entries with favicons also. This way might be useful to get more

contestant for your future Contests as well. and i'm completely agree if you select this and hope other 3 as

well agree on this decision.

(2) Ending with the best design - if you like to choose best design then you can choose either me or

Constance. because we both made designs till your last changes. but i can see you like Constance logo

rockx. that thing made me very disappointed. because i also done all changes which you wanted and also in

professional way. if you really want to choose best design then please create a Poll thread here in DP or

anywhere and set the time limit 24 hrs or something. Post our both's last 2 designs as below.

they knows which designs suits on site and which is more professional. as you want to create this

logo/banner contest to attract visitors on site of course. so please get the reviews about all 4 designs at Poll

about separate Favicon Contest - after split prizes between 4 as i mentioned you. i don't think so you need to

create new contest for Favicon because i will give you my all Favicons which i made in this thread and i

know there are may be 1 or 2 best for your site also. : )

A. I think that splitting it is the best for all .... 24$ each isn't that bad, and you'll earn all of our designs + 4 iTraders which is great for one contest.
B. please don't call me "Kafia" i'm not arabic and that name doesn't suite me.

@zinnidoll - When I said I've done alot of changes, I can only speak for myself because I have 16 do-overs of this logo. I don't know how many you've done and my focus isn't your banner, but how well i can do my banner as professional as I can for getprocash. I got every detail he wanted in the banner contest, and it paid off for me. He wants my banner, I want the reward. That's kind of why we enter these contests...

Ok thanks for the info but I think you can save that $50-$100 too, and instead of doing contests between us 4, use that in creating backlinks, google ads and publishing, and press releases, those areas. I know a few sites to help you with that. There are plenty of professional websites who offer to get your site reached by thousands in as little as a week. I think that is the better investment. Or you can let us compete for another 4 days for the other contests on design.
