    Hi there,

I noticed that http://www.johnchow.com/ has recently gone up to $300 per post on his blog. I must say, this is alot of money for a simple blogpost.

Will a few links from his blog really be worth this much?

The only thing about them review me blog posts is the fact that it has to say "This is a payed review" , iv come across many review me blogs that i would love to get a post on, but it sort of defies half the object if its blatantly saying "The owner of this site has payed me to say this!"

I would pay Chow even $500-600 for a blog post listing his honest opinions on my company, but no way if it was going to be done via Reviewme.

You know, its weird. Because iv been looking now on reviewme and i cant see the shoemoney blog in the listings. I think im going to shoot an email over to them about some banner advertising, could do quite well. Allthough id buy a review but, i think $2,500 is abit crazy, $1,000-$2,000 ok i would pay that for a banner every month but not just a one off review, but i duno, it might do really well for me so i suppose i could give it ago. :D You know Reviewme, can peaple put there own prices on there? Becouse iv just seen a blog that i purchased a post here on DP for $20 and iv seen the same person selling it for $350 on reviewme

    weird...

Wasn't he banned from Technorati? Anyway the blog is still a must read, because it explains why got banned to begin with. As for the Alexa rating, that is so easy to manipulate that it's not even funny.

    Best regards, George

A link from Shoemoney is far more worth it than John Chow IMO .. Shoe has authority and his recommendations carry weight.

it is not the link, but the target audience. If shoemoney say something is earning him money, hundred of people will go sign up without thinking..

and he put a review me icon on front page? for just 300 buck, how cheap is that

Has anyone ever seen a ReviewMe review that was negative? If this is supposed to be an honest system and the webmasters are not actually just paying for positive reviews then how come and nobody ever posts negative reviews? At any rate, I don't think John Chow can really get you enough traffic to make it worth paying $300 dollars but Shoemoney sure can justify his price. Although to tell you the honest truth, I would not pay for a review from either simply because for $2500 (and even $300) I can buy lots of good content for my sites that can bring me lots of well targeted search engine traffic and for longer term.

I think he got paid .. just that he probably won't be getting any other paid reviews from other advertisers. I thought the review was too harsh and I think he acknowledged that also in another post.

Well the guy was paying for an honest review, see... I mean paying for reviews is just like in the magazine industry, top products only get reviewed for alot of cash. So i suppose here its the same thing. I think if bloggers want to blog about you there has to be a reason for it, there needs to be something interesting that the blog readers will also find interesting.
