Paid posting is a great and effective way of getting good posts on a forum that has just started, It gives visitors something to read and join up and discuss about also it helps search engines as they have something to index

It really depends on the type of forum that you are trying to build. If your forums topic is something like a celebrity or a music band then payed forum posts is a good way to go to get things started. But if you are building a webmaster forum or some type of more technical subject then your best bet is to go with natural forum posts so that people look at your forum as a good and credible source of information as opposed to just a bunch of random and otherwise worthless posts which is what you usually get with paid posting.

    Good Luck!

Participating to forum discussions is not marketing. It is a form of communication. I would not grant my access to forums to anyone who can post meaningless only to get some money. There are companies who build affiliated networks of posters only to get promoted. This is bad practice but it is work better then to hire "forum posters".

It depends on the forum nature, if it is a specialized forum, paid forumers may not be easy to find. Secondly you will need quality posts, and quality posters aren't cheap. Worth it or not really depends on whether you get the quality posters or not. Bad posters may cause the forum to be worse than junk.

Not always true, I am currently being paid to post on a technical forum and as a second year degree student really feel I am contributing quality information and posts.

Overall paying for posts in most cases is a great way of getting a new or inactive forum up and running.

Why not just create a few users and talk to yourself.

its good for quality posts and stops people from spamming random stuff but depends, its harder to make something good that way. the user have to get something back out of it.

piad posters are good to start off the forums. If you would like to build natural members it may take too long. However the quality of the poster is very important because it could make your forum look good or bad depend on their comments/posts.

Ya, paid posters are bad quality, but there aren't many other ways to get posts early on, and without posts, no one else will post, so it's kind of like a domino effect.

I think that they are worth it in sparking a community - people don't want to go to a commnity with no posts. They like active ones with a lot of posts.

.. if the posts are intriguing then its worth it.

Quality is the major concern if the person who is posting in forum can contribute and have good knowledge of forum related niche then it works very well .. it is one of the best source of traffic .

You can use it to get the forum filled to some extent without overdoing. Afterall a new forum should look like a new forum.

But fact is without forum activity your forum would not go far. I have seen lot of forums with thousands of posts and tons of fake users and no activity!

In some cases they are worth it if you can find people who will post really good content, I found one guy here on DP that did a trial run and man did he kick but and his post were really good. I believe it was Cobalt64, but I would try to go with a few post exchanges with other people who have forums, The admin zone is a good place to start, many forum owners go there plus its a place for forum owners.

I've used 5 different services and gotten mixed results for now i'm sticking to free exchange except I might seek cobalt services.

It will make a forum look active if you hire people to post.

It depends. You have to make sure you find a good service that will be willing to do it for you. Most online pay-to-post sites only give you quote unquote "CRAP," with posters from India and Nirobia trying to peace words of English together. If you have an English forum - make sure the posters that post on it are English ;), thats the best tip I can give.
