I currently use PayDotCom and I don't like them very much. For one you're lucky if you even get paid promoting products.
Honest vendors pay their affiliates promptly on paydotcom it would be foolish not to. I have used them both and really there is not that much difference i have found you have more control with pdc but less affiliates whereas with clickbank you have less control but more affiliates promoting your products. You can always create a page for each and use both.
I'm thinking of promoting Paydotcom but I'm not qualified to promote Clickbank because my country isn't listed.
I have used both but would still vote towards clickbank although paydotcom pays via paypal I often found that I did not get paid when I was told.
There's no guarantee you will be paid when you use paydotcom. I once made over $1000 promoting a product and was never paid. I no longer use paydotcom because of that incident. Worst thing about it? When I complained to their customer service - they were of absolutely no help. They just said "We don't pay you, the merchant pays you." And I was like "no sh*t, what do you do about merchants who don't pay their affiliates?" and apparently they don't do anything about it. As far as I know that merchant is still in their system screwing other affiliates out of money.
You would think the customer service would of helped you, or at least booted the idiot off who was frauding their company. Thats how you get rid of people take them out of the company. They also should have something out that checks IP addresses that way they can make sure that IP address never comes back again. I dont know but really I think there should be some way to protect the affiliates.
I am more inclined towards clickbank but the snag with them is getting the money out of them. Here I am in the UK but clickbank say that they can only pay me with cheques in dollars!! Then I have the problem of trying to avoid conversion charges down to UK POUNDS. Has anyone had the same problem? Did you get round it?
definitely bunch. I really don't trust paydotcom.com as a company because of the way they handled that incident. they really don't seem to have much concern for the affiliates. it's unfortunate because there are some good merchants in the system and I was making some money with other merchants who paid me on time every time. but I decided I couldn't risk sending anymore traffic to merchants in the paydotcom system without knowing if I'd get paid for the sales I'm referring. clickbank is the way to go, you know you will get paid with them.
I stay away from PDC simply because as others have mentioned you are not guaranteed to get paid for you efforts simply because the vendor might decide not to pay you . I haven't even looked at promoting a PDC product in a good couple of years
If you only go with already popular and trusted merchants I don't think it's much of a problem. I think you should focus less on *affiliate network* and more on *products*.
