Les Paul, father of the electric guitar, died on 13rd August, 2009, aged 94.

The imporatnce of this instrumental giant were obviously reflected in the words of other musicians.

In the tributes paid to Paul on Friday from an array of artists and musicians, the tribute leader Keith Richards gave such an appraisal to Paul:

“We must all own up that without Les Paul, generations of flash little punks like us would be in jail or cleaning toilets,”

In this aspect, the contribution by Paul is highly recognized by people in the music industry.

As far as his identity is concerned, the conclusion given by Billy Gibbons from the rock band ZZ Top was much general:
an “innovator, a groundbreaker, a risk taker, a mentor and a friend”.

Now Paul is gone with a complete life, those who ever enjoyed his music and ever benefited from his contribution, let's pay an interval of silent tribute for him. God bless you, Paul.
