i hope this is the right topic for this section? I was just wondering if anyone has used pay per post before? can you give me some feedback on it?
I am doing some detailed posting about the service PayPerPost in the direct marketing section: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=221152 My postings are from the advertiser point of view, but I think you might find it helpful.
RomanticGuy uses it as an advertiser. From a blogger's point of view I don't like it. They display a long list of opportunities, most of which are already taken. The few opportunities that remain have stupid criteria like "please only accept this post if you have a PR5+ blog on flea control and receive 35% of your traffic from Mongolia". PPP don't allow bloggers to give a transparent (honest) review either - they can ask you to write something positive, which kind of sucks if it's a really shit subject (of course you could refuse). They don't pay that much either - I suppose $5 or $6 is the average but they ask for quite a lot for that price. I recommend trying Blogsvertise and/or Blogitive instead. Blogsvertise have infrequent opportunities (maybe once a week) but they do tend to pay better. Blogitive usually have lots of $5 opportunities all of the time.
The opportunities can be kind of hit or miss. Some days their are so many I have a hard time narrowing down my choices. Many other days, there simply is not anything available worth writing about that I qualify for. It seems there are certain people who are constantly watching for new ops to get the best ones.
As others have mentioned, you get a mixed bag of opportunities with them. Some are low payers with high requirements such as 300 words, or you have to sign up to their site, etc. The good opportunities get snapped up in moments. I've used them since October and I give them a C+.
Blogitive is OK but I'm only getting three or four offers a week from them. PPP I can almost always find two a day from them. It's not super money, I agree, but $10 to $20 each and every day does add up. I've made just north of $2,500 since I signed up.
I have stopped using PPP and Blogitive. Mainly due to me being so busy with my article offers. However, also due to their strict guidelines on posting. PPP had a huge script flaw for allowing you to choose a job only to find out that the job has been taken by someone else by the time you published the article. That drove me nuts!
PPP has since put in a reserve feature that prevents that. It has many other flaws involved in the fix but that is besides the point. My biggest gripe with the way they are now is you are required to mention that you are being paid. Even though I am never influenced into saying anything, mentioning that you are paid does hinder your credibility.
well i haven't had a chance to work w/ppp yet or blogitive, but i'll probably be trying it next week. hopefully it works! *crosses fingers*
