My first post and I hope this is the section to do it. I have an account with uploading.com. Someone I know downloaded one of my photos from there, but it didn't seem to earn me anything in my stats. So what does it mean by unique downloads? Am I just going to get screwed over by them? What would be better sites to try? I tried emailing them last week with some questions and still no reply.
Ok well I just checked uploading.com again and it seems that it was counted. But still, what does it mean by 1000 unique downloads?
They should define it somewhere on their site but that that usually means a single IP address doing a single specific download. For example if a single person was to download the same file 10 times, only the first one would count.
That makes sense then ^^ I thought that was what it meant. I was worried that it might be a way that they can screw you over or something ^^
Again though, you should check on their site. I know with megaupload, a unique download is only the first download from an ip address within 24 hours, no matter if they download different files.
I don't know about uploading.com, but most of the pay to upload sites pay only for files that are larger than 5MB. You can upload a smaller file but it won't count for money... Sometimes also depends from what country that user is. Most of the sites don't count downloads from certain countries...
Hmmm, yeah I know it says nothing about the unique downloads on uploading.com, and when I emailed them asking about it last week, I never received a reply. Most if not all of my photos are larger or as large as 5MB so I should be covered. I will see if that person will be willing to download another file today just to check. I will be pissed if it is only 1 download in 24 hours.
I heard that is a trojan http://www.spywareremove.com/removeCash4Downloads.html I don't think i would advise trying that out.
