Hey, I'm trying to find out what type of advertising people prefer: Pay Per Click or CPM.

I want to find out because I believe that PPC is becoming more expensive and most of the links are click frauds. What do you think?

IMO PPC is the way to go until you have enough experience and money to try PPV and Media Buys

Yeah I know what you mean. But CPM ads usually are awful and non related.

Bohra, how much does Adbrite pay for CPM?

IMO adbrite is really terrible, CPM is something like .03, but right now i'm using CPM but i'm not really sure which is best. CPM is great for high traffic sites and CPC is good for low traffic as you can still make revenue from clicks :)

if you have a high traffic site then cpm would be your best choice and if you have a low traffic site ppc would be your best choice.

I know that CPM is better for high traffic sites, but I've heard that CPM ads are not that relevant to the site.

Yeah, that is true. Ppc ads are the one that are relevant and cpm not so much.

IMO both models can work with the right apporach. With PPC you focus on conversions and try to only target the people who are ready to buy (put a price in your ad for instance). When you pay for impressions you want to get max traffic out of each buck so you make your add appealing to a wider audience to make their hands itchy for the click.

I don't think there is an ad network that I know of that will pay for ppc and cpm together. But you can always rotate the ads.

Adsense has both types of Ads. If you have used Adwords before, you'll know that you can create ads by CPM or by PPC. The problem is that Adsense doesn't tell you that they pay with CPM, but they do with some picture banners.

Wow, what am I saying. I thought it said something else than ppc and cpm, lol.

Yes, there is many ad networks that have both ppc and cpm all in one, like AdSense and AdBrite.

Yes PPC is becoming more expensive and most of the links are click frauds that's why I opt now with free methods such as SEO and Free PPC Ads.
