Pay Per Click (PPC) is an advertising option in which the advertiser has an ad on a search engine site or publisher site and pays only if a user clicks on the link in the ad. Google AdWords is an example of PPC

Search Engine Rankings or Search Engine Result Pages (SERPs) are the web pages returned by a search engine in response to a keyword query. The ranking of a page is the numerical position in the SERPs for a given query. For example: The page ranks 3 for the search term 'auto insurance'.

    Hope that helps.
