Pay Per Click Positioning

    I have a question about my google pay per click campaign. Looking at analytics it says you are avg position 3.5. Does that mean you are avg position is 3.5 on page 1 or on all pages? Is the first position on page 2 or page 10 considered position 1 or say position 15 or position 60. As you go deeper into the web search, are you also paying the same prices or click price drops.

    I'm assuming you're referring to the search network and not the content network. Position 1 is the first position of the first page only. The first position of the second page might actually be a position of 9 or 10. Check it out HERE

    the first position is always the first position. only on the first page.

    That's right. Position 3.5 means just that, counting from the top of the first and not the top of the page your ad appeared. Sometimes you'll see average position 25. That's when you feel your stomach just fall and become heavier because you now have a steep hill to climb.
