Do you think it would be a better idea to pay people to post on your forum or pay them to get active referrals (require them to get a minimum # posts)

Which one do you think would cost more?

I think you can get away with paying $1.00 for a referral that posts at least 300 times or starts at least 15 threads and is active for 30 days straight than paying some one $0.02 per a post?

Yeah definately pay for referals you are a lot more likely to get some quality retention from referals versus the posts that would be sitting there just taking up some space because you paid someone to put them in there. Referal retention of just 1 out of 15 would put you in a good place for not so much

I'd say pay for referrals cose posts cost more. Referrals might post all the required post, might now, so you won't have to pay that much for them ;).

Pay per post is better cause in the long run quality is better than quantity.

Paying for referrals, because, paying for posts will make your guys post some obvious (not spammy yet) posts. You know some people do this to get a big postcount, so they will do it twice as vigorously.
Pay "smart" for referrals, pay only for those who will do more than (lets say) 20 posts, but pay well.
Paying just to register may cause some false registrations that will only cause a money loss.

The third option in your poll "Pay for referrals, Posts cost more" is the answer.

They would just have to post a few times and stay active for a month.

Thanks to everyone. It's pretty much obvious which one to do now.
