YES!! That is correct...my site...www.RapidshareFilms.com also had the same problem...and i googled the name of the trojan showing up and it seemed it was the result of pay-ads :\

I had to quickly get rid of all pay-ads's ads from my site to escape from this problem.

I really dont understand ytf they'd put up a trojan in their ad-network on purpose... -__-

So just a heads up to anyone already using/wanna use pay-ads: DON'T!

That isn't always the case. Sometimes a legit program will perform certain actions for a legitimate purpose, but those actions may appear to an anti-virus as a possible virus. Most Anti-Virus look for patterns to prevent viruses. Pay-Ads is just triggering one of those patterns.

I have never used pay-ads, so I don't know how they are setup, but you will either have to get rid of the pay-ads, or submit for changes to the virus definitions at the major Anti-Virus companies like Nortons, McAffee, Symantec, TrendMicro, etc.

The only other option is to put a warning to the users that if they have an anti-virus running they will need to add an exception for your domain so the anti-virus program ingnores anything coming from your domain. But that action alone may scare customers off.

Guys, do a search before you use such programs. I had made a thread previously regarding pay-ads. They give virus & trojans and also redirect your pages completely. They mostly target US & Canada traffic. If you are outside US or Canada you will not get these alerts.

If you donot remove the ads immediatly you will lose your site reputation and also you can get blacklisted by google and other online services.

If that is the case, then definitely remove those ads. I was under the impression they were only getting virus warnings, and that it wasn't actually putting a virus on the computer. GET RID OF THOSE ADS.

This sounds very much like the viruses users get from those free screensavers, and offname antivirus programs. Ever heard of spy sherriff? Well that variant of virus is everywhere. Usually get it from using different types of P2P programs. Those P2P programs give you the spyware that causes these little popups that users click because they don't know any better. They will popup with something like your computer has 120 viruses and 65 malware infections, click here to download this program and remove the threats.

The pay-ads sound very similar to that. If it re-directs the browser in any way, then it is putting what is known as a BHO (Browser Helper Object) virus on your users computers. Get rid of those ads.

Glad to know about this! I had a similar problem when I tried using Ad-Brite a while back. My computer, along with several of my visitors' computers got the anti-virus warnings. It actually installed that Mirar BHO on my comp.

Fortunately I was able to figure out where it came from before it affected too many people. But it sure does help to learn from y'all about the other PPC programs where this is a problem! :)

You should be alerting this to the programs you are using.

well i decided not to waste my time over them.. beside i dont think they dont know anything about that since they reveiw all advertisers accounts before aproval.... so yes they knows everything about those virus and trojan redirectors... these types of ads cause great lose since visitors will not come to a site that give them virus... and as you know that visitors are the only way a website can earn money...
