Hi I have a PDF map file which I can open in Adobe Illustrator & shows me 1 layer with many paths under that layer. I want to work on that map file and want to make changes i.e. hide few places, change colors, change text & fonts etc The problem is that when I click on one shape i.e. say a park area, I want it to highlight the path layer in Layers panel but it doesn't (I want when I click one a shape, that layer should be highlight so I can hide that being a path layer not ordinary layer same as in photoshop). A friend told me to convert all paths to layers, I tried this too but that takes a lot of time. Now please help me on this issue. How can I make changes in such map file? I want to hide few areas & buildings, change colors etc. There are hundreds of paths under one layer. Please help me on this. thanks & regards
