Path SEO

    Should that path have necessary keywords in SEO if in case the article is in a subdirectory?

    Depends on the search engine you are targeting. With Google a descriptive path helps a lot. With Yahoo!, you should have as short a path as possible.

    Id go for adding some short keywords as every little helps, try to make them relevant to the content.

    Google puts some weight on the URL. It's not that it's the most important thing, but use word instead of numbers, where possible. I haven't found a real difference with other search engines.
