When i open DP forums few minutes back i got a msg: Your password is 565 days old, and has therefore expired. Please change your password using this page. One of my other DP frnd got the same msg and he is 1000+ days old member.. Can i please ask the reason? Is it for all the DP members or some weak password issue? Thanks PHYza
You sure about that? I put my old password into the "New Password" fields and the system accepted it. *shrug*
OMG. I just realized that my DP password was 1054 days old Its a good step from security point of view.
All users have to change their password as of today, and going forward they have to change it every 180 days, and they won't be able to use the same password they used in the previous year.
That is actually a pretty good idea because. I have seen other forums do this. I haven't noticed but is there a password strength requirement? Like to force somone to put like Numbers or Symbol's in their password for they don't use a Generic word in there password like bread or something? If there is no Strength requirement I would recommend it.
- Please put up a option to have it as per user preferences. I don't like having it changed every now and then. I know it is a good thing to avoid hacks. But yet! i can't keep any passwords used in past 365 days either.
Every 90days at my job we have to change all of our passwords we use to login to the system's (3 passwords) and we can not use the same one till 180 days are up.
@everyone - No need to post this thing as shawn already explained. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showpost.php?p=12867541&postcount=10 DON.
