In terms of passing on PR and counting towards SE backlink votes would the following 2 links be considered the same: <a href="http://www.mydomain.com">My Domain</a> and <a href="http://www.mydomain.com?ref=1">My Domain</a> This is assuming everything else is equal (site that the link is on etc). The domain, subdomain, filename (default index.??? or whatever) are the same, only difference would be the query string. Importantly also would the above 2 links be returned in the following query in the major SE (G, Y!, msn) :' link:http://www.mydomain.com Of course assuming the page the links appear on in spidered
IMHO: They're not the same. Although I hear the google, yahoo, etc will index dynamic sites, my sites were never indexed until I went search engine friendly, and used links like "http://www.mydomain.com/ref/1" Apache and php handle this nicely
