Passing on SEO Advice

Basically I am in a position where I need to pass on the SEO techniques and methodologies I have learnt to other parties - does anyone have advice on the best approach for doing so?

The position I am in basically requires some sort of Site Assessment and Future Action Plan for the business, and yes I understand they will require certain things such as my reccommendations and how I believe they can move forward and to me it seems like they require your standard SEO firm-type report including site analysis, keyword analysis, link popularity analysis, usability analysis, evaluation on current advertising campaigns etc.

If anyone can put me onto some good resources on preparing such a report or posting some helpful information it would be appreciated.

I wouldnt reveal the specifics of how you accomplish certain tasks. After all, your knowledge and expertise is what makes you a valuable commodity. What i would do is...

You shold be using the DP keyword tracker to track the improvements in ranking that your work has achieved and the increase in links pointing to the site - Share this stats with your client. Aside from that you should give general reports of the work you have performed such as: added 10 additional pages, revised anchor text in internal links, solicited link exchanges with 430 related sites, etc.

Just keep in mind that telling them about the work you have done builds value in your service and showing improved results/rankings encourages your clients to stay on board. If you have access to their traffic reports you may also be able to show them the increased revenue your work has created - which is probably all they really care about.

    Thanks for the info Bilz.

All those sections are very helpful and will be included, but I also need to write reccomendations based off the reporting I was doing using WebCEO. I think the best approach might be to take those reports and write a document based off the results. I also know I need to go into more detail on the companies competitors and make reccommendations on how to keep up with their SEO practices aswell (check backlinks and who they are running campaigns with etc).

That seems like a good plan. however, try not to get too long winded. Most business owners just want to know the bottom line. Its usually a good idea to give them a brief report showing progress and then some seperate supplemental info on plans for the future etc.
