What kind of programs do people write in PASCAL. I mean in C, C++ and C# the skies the limit know what i mean. Security, hobbie, anything. Firewalls, AV, Mini Telnet Apps Word Processors ect. What Is PASCAL usually used for? Also for anyother language what are they best for.
Pascal has moved forward to Delphi... Delphi is basically visual C++ or visual basic... but for Pascal, and delphi is used for a TON of programs. Actually most of the remote computer access programs are written in delphi. The old trojan Sub7 was written in Delphi.. aka Pascal Basically, anything you can do in Visual C++ you can do in Delphi. I prefered Delphi myself, over VC++
I've been coding with Delphi for around 9 years. But when the fears that Borland was going to drop Delphi, and rumors that there'd be no new products or support, I started migrating to .NET. Delphi didn't die. But, unfortunately, I've moved on.
.NET appears all over when looking for books on programming. What exactly is it. Do you prefer to write native programs or programs requiring the .NET framework? @ everyone who enters this post.
