Hi, I know its bad to use trademarks in domains. Is there a case though, when it comes to incorporating part of the trademark like: myspace-layouts.com = bad superspacelayouts.com = ? (site still about myspace layouts) I know that the term is specifically "myspace" but isnt there a rule that profiting from a trademark, even when it is just implied can be a case against you? Like i remember a dude who got his adwords deactivated because he used "my space" because even if the term is not exact, it is implied. I am not just talking about the myspace trademark, but all trademarks in general when used in the domain name.
It is protected even if it is used in conjunction with other words. There is always some risk but due to the unlimited amount of combinations, large companies won't go after everyone, especially if you are not harming them.
in short, it's best practice to never piss off a large company in any way. Even if you think there's a minor chance of something happening. Remember, they can afford to pay a lawyer to sit around and waste time in court, you can't.
This is not legal advice by any means, but the bottom line is this: So long as you are not a peddler who trades on the names and reputations of established brands with intent on making a financial gain or a commercial benefit from registration of the domain name then you are in the clear. I would not suggest putting ads in this site just to be safe.
