Parsing PHP in .html Files

When I add the code to my .htaccess file, my pages ask to be opened or to be saved. How can I fix this problem?

If you have a problem with htaccess, what software your host uses will not make a difference.

i just used the code above but nothing displayed. i hope i am understanding this method correctly.

 

i changed to a cpanel web host and everything works.
