    Parking Versus Mini Sites

About three weeks ago I came across a thread on Mini Sites and I decided that I would turn all my parked names into Mini Sites.

My names were not earning much at the sedo parking program, so three weeks later I have around 160 developed mini sites with another 30 to develop. I have noticed that my revenue has increased four fold.

Any other domainers out there who have turned their names into mini sites rather than relying on domain name parking?

If so please show us your Mini Sites and let us know if your income has increased from developing Mini Sites.

Here are a few of mine using the Niche Store program

    AFL Gear
    Backpacks
    Motocross
    v8 Engines

well thats a good idea and I think it works well however what kind of hosting are you using? To earn a lot you need to also start link building then that would also help. But it is true unless it is a really good domain that gets good hits you will not earn much. So great that it working for you.

Hosting costs me $10 per month for "all" names through hostgator ... I have all names with the "Addon" feature through Cpanel.

So I am only paying for the hosting fees for one name which is great.

Not only that but every mini site has links to my forums so that should improve my other proper websites pagerank etc

Did you come up with all of the content on your own?

Just about every domain I acquire gets built out - most are one-page sites and some are complete developed sites. Before getting built they are parked at Sedo. I too, noticed that once each site is built, the money made is far more than what you can get at Sedo, and that's even done with 'weak' domains (long-tail phrase).

But the best part from an seo perspective is that once the sites have aged well, you can drop links on them that in turn get the other sites in your network ranked as well - and even more $ from the big G.

The general consensus is that minisites make more money than parked domains b/c they have better content and you cut out the parking middleman. But, most people are too lazy, so they just park it.

developing will always equal more revenue than parking -- especially with geo names. another great development model is to create directories and charge a listing fee.

the latest name we developed is http://MrDictionary.com fyi.

    Developing is generally better overall.
You have a better chance at making more.
You have control over your content.
You have (or should strive to have) unique content.
...And in my opinion it makes for a better for the internet experience.

Great username...FatherChristmas. Any gifts for me this year? I've been mostly good
    this year ---LOL :D

I have tried a couple of the mini sites available and initially traffic and rev increased but after 2-3 months found they dropped of the engines.
Those that had some traffic to begin with have maintained and produce fairly well.
Gotta update the content on low traffic names.

I have noticed that my parked sites are gathering just pennies per month. I guess deparking of adding one static page to each domain with some ads would improve the chance of more pennies or even more dollars...It will have to update my post here with my results.
