Parking Domain Vs 301 Redirect

Currently I have a site with the domain xxxxB.com, the site used to have the domain xxxxA.com, since ive recently switched it to the new domain I parked xxxxA.com on top of xxxxB.Com via Cpanel. Is this alright? Will PR, backlinks etc. go over to xxxxB.com or should I just an htaccess 301 redirect? If so, can anyone provide me a code snippet for that?

The consensus that I found was park and 301 redirect. Otherwise it does look like duplicate content.

Its wierd, when I enter the mod_rewrite info into the htaccess as a 301 I get an error saying this URL has exceeded its redirect limit, or something to that effect..

Just do a 301 redirect... however i expirencied many cases when the 301 redirect didn't passed pagerank or serps possitions, or whatever... much more it even hurt the serps for both domain names :(

So your saying, set up domain xxxxA.Com as an addon domain, or on another hosting account and have the index page being a 301 to xxxxB.Com?

I would use both, as I use both and recommend it.

For example. I have 1 free host that I use to host fantasypc.frih.net

Then I got very interested in my site and wanted to go bigger. I registered this domain www.fantasy-pc.com and bought a real host.

I parked the domain from my old free host, and I used a 301 redirect on the new site.
