Parked Domains and Index question

    Hi,

Wanted to ask if Parked Domains (at Godaddy) will be dropped by Google Index?

I am thinking of buying a PR domain but its not indexed by Google. Seller says its normal because its parked.

I have seen some other parked domains that are indexed though but that may just be a time thing.

    Can anyone help me out?

I think it depends how big your site is?

I have about 20 parked at godaddy and afternic and they are all indexed.
and i received about 50-100 visitors per month at worst.

    is it paid park?
if not, you may want to consider creating a site and build in meta tags.

if you don't want visitors see the "hosted free" message by godaddy, simply
redirect your domain to other established site for a few days. Be sure to choose "mask" option when you are forwarding and type in the title, description, and keywords. Not only it'll be indexed but it'll also list your provided title, keywords, description. =]

    Thanks for the replies.

    Kaung,
The domain isnt mine... I am thinking of buying it ... however its not indexed by Google. Its an old PR4 domain and I would have thought it would be.

Seller says that its because its parked at GoDaddy and once I put a site on it , Google will start indexing it again.

Was wondering if that was true or if it is a banned domain or something.

I am buying it for the age factor for SERPs and it wouldnt be worth its price at all if it was banned.

    Thanks,

    Matt

If the domain is banned just ask for Google to review again the site if ever. ;)

Google indexes parked domain until it realizes they have nothing to offer so eventually such domains are dropped.

So the conclusion is still either its banned or its been parked so long that its dropped.

But pat, why would it be dropped if its parked at Godaddy. It still would be a valid landing page for indexing...Maybe supplement index but would still would see the site if using the site: command.

Dont forget gaining money on parking is only valid for 1-5 months its not important how big was your site before parking.

Your hard working on the web page will gone seriously couse when google indexes your pages a parked page is indexing in different categories. So your traffic goes down and down...
