There actually was a time in history when it meant something, but it's effectivness has been diminished thoughout the years by our deteriorating justice system. This whole situation is funnier that most people really know. Here's the situation. L.A. has a attorney general, Rocky Delgadillo . He's a idiot, plain and simple. He was ready to give a black firefighter a big settlement when the firefighter claimed that a prank involving dog food was racially motivated. Well there's a radio station here in L.A. KFI, who found out that this guy was the king of firehouse practical jokes, but suddenly, HE'S the one who's offended. Well, that settlement got vetoed by the Mayor REAL quick, and the black firefighter got nothing after the outcry of the public. This is he same guy who now wants to put Paris back in jail after this public outcry, since they shouldn't have let her go in the first place. Yeesh. You wait and see. If they put Paris back in jail, she'll cry "emotional duress", and sue the city, and they'll settle, causing even MORE public disgust. More moolah out the pocket, thank to good ol' Rocky. Nuts. They should have just let her stay out of jail.
