    Hi all DP members;

    I run a website "BharatTutors.com" (say parent site). The website aims to connect students and tutors in India and as well as abroad (for online tutoring). This website is well SEO optimized for keywords like "Tutors from India". This site comes in top 3 results in Google.
    Now, I also own domains like mumbaitutors.com, lucknowtutors.com, punetutors.com, chennaitutors.com etc.
    Can someone guide me how I can use these children domain names to get get more traffic? Currently all these domains show the same homepage as BharatTutors. This won't help for SEO because of duplicate contents.
    Can you suggest me how to use these domains so that, these domain get good SEO ranking and users registering on these sites will also register at parent site. I don't want to hurt SEO ranking of parent or children sites by duplicate contents.
    Should I make totally different websites for these domains?

    ideally you should have gone for sub domains like mumbai.bharatTutors.com but since you have already purchased these domains,...you can use the for link building

    here is a seo strategy.

    1. create localized site on city based domains and put information like tuition centers, schools, colleges in that city. Update some generalized article about education on these domains. After some time, these domains will start to rank for "localized queries" like mumbai tuition centers etc etc.

    After that there are 2 options
    1A. you put a subscription box on your site and when someone subscribe, you can put the link of your main site in auto responder.
    1B. Put a banner of main site on your city based site
    1C. Use one universal registration form that will redirect the user to main site after registration.

    2. Advance = cloaking
    You can redirect the users to your main site when they visit your city based site but let the search engines see the city based site.
    HIGH SEO PENALTY RISK but if done correctly, it will get you good results

    Yes. I would also go with subdomains.. But, now try to optimize EACH website for a different keyword... Yes, that's hard, but... Create local backlinks, directories, blogs, etc. Also, don't forget to have a proper linking, sometimes maybe you need to create a backlink from your MAIN website to the SPECIFIC pages in other domains! ;)
