Hi Everyone, I had a site that was slowly climbing in uniques and pageviews (bensgolf.com). I was updating content twice weekly and now have 100 unique articles. Then crash! Nothing, no more visitors, no results in google search. It looks like I've been hit by the Panda update. The only SEO I have ever done was right when the site launched in late July/early August. I paid a guy from these forums to do some link building etc. and I paid for a gig off fiverr. Obviously these links were not quality links. The question is how can I correct things? Should I go through all my inbound links and try to get them deleted? Should I try to get some better links? Should I remove adsense? I'm not really sure what to do. I also have a few other sites that have been hit by Panda. One site I had went from about 400 uniques a day down to 150.
Start checking and then clearing your site of duplicate articles / content, then start doing some real quality backlinking and you should be ok. Ranks drop easy but the climb back hard... Of course you can 301 this site to a new one that will be a "quality" one...
just have a quick look on the duplicate contents on your website and then sort them out and give them up. Then wait for the next update and don't give up link building by this time.
First you should check for every backlink that is suspectable on low quality. As your site has articles, check for plagiarism and copied images. remove them first and then go for new seo strategy.
Some people say that the penalty is due to major link loss. If you keep building quality links your site is sure to bounce back.
You will get very general comments without revealing your site URL. Might have to look into the site structure
Not it didn't crash as in go offline, it crashed as in 0 visitors per day from about 50 uniques/day. Not a huge deal but I'm just wondering if it's going to be sandboxed for good. the url is bensgolf.com. I'm pretty sure it either has to do with the link building. All written content is unique, however the images have been taken from various sources. Should I delete all images? I could add a sitemap as well I guess.
I agree to you. Check weather your site is Copy content passed or not. To do that you can see it on copyscape.com
you are definitely still on google - https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&filter=0&lr=&ie=UTF-8&q=site:bensgolf.com both bens golf & bensgolf.com return results on page #1 probably a penalization due to lack of quality content & duplicated content *site structure may lead to duplicated content Google also not showing backlinks to your site - work on getting better quality links that will add value to your site - remember quality > quantity
Ok Thanks. I don't think the content is the problem as all articles are unique. I'm going to just consider it a link building issue and continue trying to get about 2-3 articles/week and try to start building links. Usually posting on authority golf forums gets me a few uniques a day so I'll work in increasing forum posting as well as guest posting as I think a guest best is a great way to get a natural contextual link. Thanks.
Kill all the dupe content, get quality backlinks, dont use blackhat and ur site will be up and running again
i suggest you to investigate your backlinks. if your articles are not trash, only thing you can do is checking backlinks.
yes u need to more focus on good unique quality content on your site and get some google high quality backlink.
Every single one of my articles was either written by me or from 3 hired golf writers. As far as I'm aware there is no duplicate content and none stolen, unless you're aware of something I am not? Is there a way to check? Or is your solution just based on a fact less assumption?
