Funny isn't it.. The sites I spend no time on and haven't updated for ages and have basically just left alone are doing much better since the Panda update - more traffic + more adsense earning. The sites I have spent a lot of time on and produced what I consider to be high quality sites have lost traffic - rankings and adsense earnings.... Anyone else starting to get the thoughts "why bother any more" I know the attitude of a lot of people is to keep "fighting" "never give up" etc but you do reach a point when you realise that your success / failure is almost totally out of your hands and it really comes down to some automated bot scanning your website and deciding whether you go up or down. I'm just glad I have other skills I can fall back on if things don't improve soon..
Now that's a big LOL, and what do you mean by crap sites an best sites. It can't be possible that the "best sites" that have unique content to "be doing worse" and the other ones to be doing good. Google may have a reason.
I think I explained what I meant by crap sites and best sites. Crap site = not much quality content - not updated often - basically untouched for years Quality Site = High quality original articles + quality backlinks + frequent updates Well its true, I can't see it all quite easily in both analytics + webmaster tools data A single algorithm can never fully distinguish between a quality site and a rubbish site. Thats why I believe google employed a load of people to visit a heap load of websites and select the quality ones over the poor ones.
So many web masters are complaining about how their crap sites are doing way better than the sites they take their time to maintain and it sucks. This panda update, don't know if its good or bad.
