Nobody knew before Cheney was VP. Now we know that the VP is the one that the rules the world from a fortified bunker 3 miles below the East Texas Oil Museum.
    Muahahahahaha!

You are wrong. The VP shoot people by mistake while hunting.

VP's also invent things like the internet and teach spelling to fifth graders you know like "potato".

Besides making some lame jokes about this, you guys really don't seem to defending her that well. Is it because there's nothing that can be said about this? Even though you McCain supporters think this is some kind of joke or something, I can assure that this is a VERY SERIOUS matter. If something happens to McCain if he gets elected, this lady WILL BE OUR PRESIDENT.

It sounded like a rhetorical question, be any case Cheney as a VP operates and functions differently then how Al Gore functioned as a VP.

Asking "dumb" questions like the one in the video tells you everything you need to know about her. I think she should step down from the election and take her kids to soccer practice.

Whatever!!!! If you think it was taken out of context then find the video that is in context to what she's saying.

The role of American VP has never been defined other than it casts the deciding vote in the Senate anytime the vote is 50-50 and obviously it's first in line to succeed the president should he/she die, or for some other reason, be unable to continue as president. Other than that though, there really is no clear definition of what a VP is supposed to do. Cheney's taken the role of VP to a brand new level, one that I don't think was ever meant to be seen.

Teddy Roosevelt's time as VP was the exact opposite. He was the governor of New York and made it a priority to reform New York politics and that upset Thomas Platt, the "boss" of the New York Republican party so much, that Platt forced then president William McKinley to accept Roosevelt as McKinley's new VP candidate after Garret A. Hobart, McKinley's previous VP, had died. Putting Roosevelt on the ticket wasn't meant to help McKinley or put Roosevelt in a significant role in the party but rather make sure that Roosevelt wasn't in a position to reform anything. Back then the VP was considered a very trivial and powerless office. That's certainly changed but at the same time there still isn't a true definition of the role of a VP other what I already mentioned.

They were discussing Palin\'s possibility of being a VP choice and it was obvious that she wastrying to brush it off as if she had heard nothing about her name even being considered.

The woman is a complete fucking air-head. And what's even funnier is when her supporters act as if when she was announced as Mccain's running mate they didn't shout "WHO?!?!"

I was surprised as well when she was chosen. Shows you how good John MCCain's judgement is. The smartest thing John McCain could've done is chosen a running mate that was "smarter" than he was. That would help him more in the long run. Maybe if the election was two weeks after choosing his V.P. it would've been a good move, but he's given too much time for people to realize who she really is.

At least his VP thinks he is ready to lead the country unlike Biden which is perhaps the most stupid pick for VP ever

Well lets see. McCain was down in the polls before the announcement, he soared after the announcement, and he's still ahead in the polls on electoral count, albeit a tight race. She's gotten the DNC so rattled even their own politicos admitted they have to get back on message. One has to get IN before becoming President, so I'd say his pick is turning out to be a pretty smart move.

As far as knowing what a VP does... I havent heard her mention that a McCain presidency would be the equivalent of on-the-job training... or praise the other candidates credentials as being higher than the guy leading her own ticket... so she must be smarter than Biden AND Hillary. Biden might regret those words now... Hillary likely doesn't.

Bill Clinton was on a TV interview this week speaking about Palin in terms that were actually more glowing than most of what he's said about Obama. I suspect Hillary and Bill will carefully take every opportunity to throw a wrench in Obama's gears. Hillary bailing on the rally in NY was an example. Obama probably needs to watch his "friends" at *least* as closely as his enemies right now. The Clintons have a talent for mischief.
