Prime Minister Ehud Olmert vows painful retaliation against Gaza militants.

Does anyone believe that a ceasefire with Hamas will work?

This is crazy. The US has pledged $900 million to help rebuild the place and Hamas continues to fire rockets.

Why not focus on the root of the problem which is the slow annexation of internationally recognized palestinian land with zillions of israeli settlements. Care to mention this teenie little problem;)

    They never learn...
    Citizens of Gaza:
    prepare to the next war.
    prepare to more 1000 deaths.
    prepare to more bombings.
prepare to more thousands of buildings destroyed.
prepare to weeks of hiding in shelthers.

cause you brought it on yourself.

Even if it was the case, does it justifies firing rockets into houses with children? Deliberately.

The terrorist have no regards to know one but their god and is at war with the Jew and not so much because land is "taken" away, that is not the reason.

Childrens are used so that if they are killed, more people on the outside world will see how evil the "Zionist" are and will be sympathetic to their cause, but to those that review the methods of the terrorist will find that groups like the Hamas and Hezbollah are the ones who are killing their own people by submitting them in danger.

El Mufti turned the conflict into a religous war on the Jews when he claimed Jerusalem as a holy site of Islam.

The Jews pulled out of Gaza.

Bogart I was talking about the settlements. If you dont know that there are zillions of jewish settlements there then maybe you need a crash course from Anna Baltzer. I would never justify the death of one person ever just as I would never try to justify the death of innocent children in Gaza stuck in the middle of this war also. As i said many times im sick of the fighting and i wish both sides would reach out and find a moderate ground to reach an aggreement from. I have friends on both sides of the fence and I hate to see what this is doing to them both.

pingpong123 - the settlements are the most hated people in Hilonic (the most of Israel) Israel.
they are gross, brutal, and they make Israel bad name.
don't judge us just because of them, please. the most of the Israeli people are support 2 state solution, and because of the Hamas and Fatach we can't sign the agreement with Abu Mazen (PA's prime minister)

After they get that trillion the morons liberals have pledged, they'll be able to build even more. That's about the gist of it.

Speech is silver silence is gold.

You are the one who make Israel bad name. Who gives you the right to generalize 300,000 people as brutal and gross?!
To say that the secular people in Israel hate the "settlers" it's ignorance. My family is secular and one of the groups we have a lot of respect to them are the "settlers". You better check how many "settlers" sacrificed their lives in the last operation in Gaza. moreover, there is a lot of secular "settlers" too.
We can't sign an agreement with Abu-Mazen because of Fatah? hahahaha. nice joke. ABU MAZEN IS THE LEADER OF FATAH. THE REPLACER OF THE TERRORIST-ANIMAL YASSIR ARAFAT.

You should think before you post.

Ehud Barak offered the Palestinians 100 percent of the Gaza Strip and over 90percent of the West Bank. Israel has also offered some land on the Israeli side of the Green Line that is inhabitated by Palestinians.

At this point there needs to be both a Trans-Jordan solution and Pan-Arab Solution. Israel is small and is less than 10,000 square miles. One part of the solution is a Palestine-Trans-Jordan State with transit rights via the Red Sea/Suez to Gaza. The second part of the solution is for the Arabs to accept the refugees that have been born in their countries.

Barak offered all that Israel can give and at this point Israel may not be willing to part with the Jordan Valley. Every time the Palestinians resort to violence they end up with less. In 1947 the Palestinains had approx. 90% of the former Palestine-Tran-Jordan terrority. After every war they have less.

It's not so simple. The Palestinians would take the money and continue to attack.

There's 1 million Palestinians that live within Israel. Do they get money? What about the Palestians refugess? Does Hezbollah get any money?

How about giving Palestinians abandoned homes in Detroit and use the trillion to pay off the subprime mortgages on them :D

What's that little thing that dangles after you've pinched a loaf called? You know, the one that just did not make the departure and landing. You can sit on the loo and shake and shake, wiggle here, twitch there, but it just won't drop.

No amount of tp ever seems to do the trick when that happens.

This sums up my opinion on the region and its inhabitants. Give the trillion to Israel, let them bulldoze the region and rebuild it. Any true God Fearing Palestinian that converts, or at the very least rejects terrorism (ah, converts), can join in on the fun.

I'd rather experience a clean shit for once.

Wow. It's really surprising to see an Israel/Palestine thread without Moslems vociferously defending Hamas and other terrorists. Have things changed or am I hallucinating? :D

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Tuesday said that "there is no doubt that any nation, including Israel, cannot stand idly by while its territory and people are subjected to rocket attacks,"

Ohad, believe me, we should not split Jerusalem, keep the Golan Heights, and some of Jehuda and Shomron desert, but a Palestinian state is definitely the only option.
I think the Palestinians got the poor look, specially in Europe, and Israel look as the bad country, but they forget 11\9 and the British Tube Terror - and the settlers are not actually the best commercial Israel gets.

there is another difference between us and the Hamas and the Fatah - we don't go and bomb ourselves in Gaza's restaurants or coffee houses.

I can't support anyone who is acting like an animal - it doesn't meter if his name is Osama Bin Laden or Moria...something. the only way you can make a difference is not by sitting next to the extremely Muslims in Gaza; the way is just to get into the Knesset (Israel's parliament).

So, instead of thinking that I'm not Zionist, understand my opinion and what here is behind them.
