When I login on my WP admin today, I just saw one backlink that caught my attention. When I click the link, it goes here: http://cs-it.blogspot.com/2007/08/earn-money-in-google-adsense-without.html which was posted on August 29. The content of that post is the exact copy of my article here: http://money.earnersclub.net/2007/0...se-without-a-website-adsense-revenue-sharing/ which I posted on July 20. The profile of the author is here: http://www.blogger.com/profile/00319939136187858808 I need your help and advices on what to do.
It won't matter because you already got credit for the copy in Google.. Basically his article will be of little or no value other then to provide information. Plus you also got a backlink to the blog which will help your blog in the search engines. If it is really bothering you, you can contact the person directly and work it out that way or try to contact the site administrator directly. If it were me I would leave it alone and possibly contact him and ask him that if people link to his blog that they also link to your blog.. If you check Google you will see you have credit for having the blog first. So no need to worry too much here.
contact to him and also said him to give credit to you on his blog , but you allready gor back link from his blog ang have credit in google also , so u don't have nay need to take tension for it , just contact him and complete your job
just email him to give you a backlink. Google has already credited you. His copy pasting will be of no use.
There's no reason to allow someone to get away with it if you can stop them. Giving you a backlink, or them getting lesser rankings, doesn't make it OK in the slightest. When someone steals your work, it cheapens your work by destroying your exclusivity - making it more difficult to get higher paying sponsors, to be able to resell rights to the work later, etc. Contact their host, and have the site removed if possible (or the content only, depending on whether they've stolen a post or a whole site). You can also send dmca notices to the major search engines, and they'll remove the second copy of the article from their indexes completely (meaning they won't get traffic from them). If they're using Adsense or similar services, report the copyright violation to them, and you can sometimes have their account suspended. If they're using private advertisers on the site with the infringing work, contact their private advertisers if the person doesn't remove the post. Many advertisers will pull their ads and demand a refund if they find out the content is stolen where they're advertising (they don't want to be associated with it, especially after there's proof that they knew about it). If you take away their traffic and income sources, they'll generally pull it, even if they wouldn't originally.
wow its pretty amazing that, out of all the spammy crap that goes through the links in the wp admin panel, you managed to catch your one story.
I think jhmattern said it best, don't let them get away with it. What happens when more people start doing it?
Get in touch with blogger they are very strict regarding duplicate content. Do you know that you just sent him an extra 100 visitors by making this thread?
Thanks for all the replies and for the explantion of jhmattern. I think there's no online support for blogger regarding this matter. When I read their Content Policy (http://www.google.com/blogger_dmca.html), a written communication is needed
I think most of his posts are just copy-pasted. I searched some of his posts and it seems that it comes from http://infotech.indiatimes.com
I hope all goes well GWH, no need to worry, Google has your back on this one...lucky for you not many would be so lucky Keep up the good work!
Crack open a beer and celebrate that you got a backlink! Yeah! Try to write more stuff as good as that and hope it gets copied many, many more times in the future!
blogger is owned by Google. They are promoting DMCA everywhere, so simply contact blogger. But of course try to contact the Pakistani first, ask him for a credit, I'm sure he will comply. Maybe he just doesn't know that copying without credit is bad. Not everyone posting anything in the web understand this matter.
It sounds like you don't quite understand the matter either. Copying with credit is also "bad." It's illegal. Giving credit when you copy someone's work doesn't get you out of trouble. You're not allowed to copy someone's entire work... simple as that.
Because some countries don't allow you to pursue their residents for copyright violations and others do. In an international case, they would need country-specific feedback. However, if it's on a free blog and that blog platform is in the US, the Pakistani laws wouldn't matter anyway.
