Pakistan is one of the most unstable countries in the world.

Pakistan is one of the most unstable countries in the world. On April 13, White House counterterrorism consultant David Kilcullen said that a political collapse in Pakistan could come within months. A 2008 report from the U.S. Joint Forces Command identified Pakistan as a country at risk of a "rapid and sudden collapse," one that would create a devastating security problem for the world. The report says that "the collapse of a state usually comes as a surprise." Anyone banking their money on Pakistan's economic growth might not know what hit them.

Pakistan is on a verge of collapse. The main reason for the political instability is the weak economy. If the economy was indeed booming, then Taliban would never have gained a foothold there. But its game over for them. The economic crisis is gonna get worse, resource scarcity would set in, and there is no one that can prevent that state from a complete collapse and breakup into 4 parts, like the Soviet Union.

Soon, there will be energy shortages and food shortages there... Then a mega-deflation followed by hyper-inflation. That would be the beginning of the collapse.

The Pakastani nukes are under US control. Though there is a risk of proliferation as Pakastani scientists do outsourcing work on the side.

We in Israel are very worried about what is going on there. The news from Pakistan take the headlines.
The last thing we need is a second Iran, this time nuclear from birth.

It is not "one of the most unstable", as there as many even less stable countries, esp in africa and asia.
But it is definately "one of the most dangerous", where world stability is concerned.

It is a pity that Pakistan achieved democracy but they never manage to shake off corruption that seems so inherent in their political system. Not sure what are their politicians doing other than fighting each other. Taliban on the other side are well disciplined. Hopefully something makes the Pakistani govt wake up to the threats they are facing. I dread to think of the consequences with Afghanistan and Pakistan both under the Taliban.

If Pakistan were to fail nuclear weapons would be the least of the worlds worry. This country would give the Taliban the resources and the man power it's desperately looking for. But I still think total anarchy in Pakistan would be at least a couple of years away. Also if Pakistan were to fail its waters may then become like those off of Somalia. So it's failure must be avoided at all costs.

I am sure that this time our government will implement Military option for talibans.

Some days ago everyone was bashing govt for military operations. now talibans creating problems after deal.
All pakistani parties uniting for military operation on them now.

I have read on the news that the Pakistani government are sending a few platoons to fight the Talibans. I don't really see the effectiveness of that. To fight them I guess you need divisions of troops and also commitment to fight a long war.

Almost accurate. The U.S. under George W. Bush created the problem. Now that Obama is in charge, everything will be ok.
