THIS IS ALREADY SINCE TWO YEARS IN PAKISTANS SCHOOLBOOKS FOR 16 YEAR OLD STUDENTS TO LEARN

Here the original POEM...and read the first letters of each line ...combined it says PRESIDENT GEORGE W BUSH

    The Leader

Patient and steady with all he must bear,

Ready to meet every challenge with care,

Easy in manner, yet solid as steel,

Strong in his faith, refreshingly real.

Isn't afraid to propose what is bold,

Doesn't conform to the usual mould,

Eyes that have foresight, for hindsight won't do,

Never backs down when he sees what is true,

Tells it all straight, and means it all too.

Going forward and knowing he's right,

Even when doubted for why he would fight,

Over and over he makes his case clear,

Reaching to touch the ones who won't hear.

Growing in strength he won't be unnerved,

Ever assuring he'll stand by his word.

Wanting the world to join his firm stand,

Bracing for war, but praying for peace,

Using his power so evil will cease,

So much a leader and worthy of trust,

Here stands a man who will do what he must.

Turns out to be quite a big story in Pakistan now

HA ha ha, it turned out that the textbook authors found this poem on internet and didn't see the name hidden in it.

Its on page 226 in "A texbook of English" and students had to learn that fully.

The question is, was it on purpose or just by chance.

Javed Ashraf Qazi has ordered to take it off in the next edition and until the new books are printed to ignore that poem, a speaker of the ministry of education admitted shamefully to the newspaper "Times of India"

    Whether on purpose or not
Thats what I call according to scriptures: "We are not wrestling against flesh and blood but spiritual principalities".

Regardless of your political standings, doesn't anyone else see the irony of George W.'s name being in a "Textbook of English"?

For a guy who went to Yale, he does not have a very good word list.

I'm up here in WI as well, and I agree 100% with Henny... BTW, we are a "Blue" state... Thoughts to ponder.

I obviously omitted the word "thought" ....

Oh, someone said omitted - would George like bacon with that? :p

Bush may be a good man but he's a terrible president.

He's made so many blunders that I've lost track. :D

Well, I might argue a few of those points, mainly the first, but ....

I'm sure there's a plethora of websites out there that track these for us, but I really don't feel like finding them right now:

    1. The Patriot Act probably allows them to track down users and I really don't need a vacation at Gitmo.

    2. I really don't need the reminders.

    Yesssssssss!

    Go George, go!

Anyway, if the poem sounds good, why bother?

Anyone afraid it might get some professional Bush bashers back home to where they belong (That is to the land of the reasonable?)

I'm not big on clichès, but I thought it was poetic justice in 2000 when Tommy Thompson did a live phone call-in to Fox News declaring that his state and electoral college votes would undoubtedly be going to Bush ... the next day, while Florida was being debated and challenged, there was no doubt that Bush did not win Wisconsin. No matter, Thompson got an appointment to DC thereafter ...
