Because it's illegal in England. If their fanatical, ranting protests are anything to go by a significant percentage would like to go around killing people for a variety of reasons, If they had the guts to. We are quite fortunate in England to have a particularly cowardly type of muslim. The type that rant about imperialistic oppressors while hiding behind imperialistic oppressors who are protect their right to do it like a dog that's just pissed on the kitchen floor.

Your western liberal values are kinda new. Your history is filled with instances like burning witches, crusades against non-believers, inquisitions, ethnic cleansing of Red Indians, racism & slavery. Western countries always believed they were a superior race, and set out to conquer the world. Most of them had colonies and imperial empires, where they tortured and killed and bribed to get hold of natural resources and man-power for their armies, and a market for their goods and a new source of taxes... Indian subcontinent, Africa and Latin America were mutilated by this Imperialistic ambitions of "white" westerners. Add to it Two World Wars, and many conflicts, killing millions of Europeans and Americans... Not quite a good record. Let us hope these liberal values survive when we hit the peak, and this civilization goes into a downward spiral with food shortages, mass starvation, water wars, resource wars... I think you have a point here. Yes, there are, out there, people killing in the name of religion, any religion. However, it is mostly isolated individuals, usually mentaly sick in some ways. Islamists are not isolated killers. They have been educated with strong beliefs coming from religious books, including hate... The fact that you are in denial is OK. From here, as atheist, you're free to do so. And as atheist, no matter what, we can argue and be the best friends. In your side, as atheist, can I be your best friend, knowing I need to see ful equality between a man and a woman, between a jew and a muslim, between a black and a white?
