Ok everyone has there own words about this subject . I ran across a blog the other day that said Paid traffic is for losers who are too lazy to go promote themselves to there niches . Is this true ? If so then why just every time you refresh a blog it has a add about come see us we get you thousands of visitors to your site? Are not they all robots ? Are these real browsers who actually are content driven to your site ? If NOT then yes that type of traffic yes to me is worthless . Why is the market so high advertising for it though ? Especially if you can actually get penalized for it in your serps ??

I thing, both approaches should be used together, then your chances for success will increase many times.

They both have their place. I think PPC is great. I think almost any website that has something to sell should at least try it and see if their market works for them. Last month I tried my first attempt at a clickbank ebook and let me tell you, it was a disaster! However, with PPC I spent a few weeks sending traffic to my site, I was doing well at sending them on to the merchants site. However, I found out that the merchants site doesn't convert well at all. This was out of my control and I decided it would be best to scrap the website and move on. However, if I depended entirely on organic traffic to find these results, I would have been spending countless hours for really almost nothing. If nothing else, PPC can tell you a lot about your website or whether your niche can be profitable.

Still, if that website would have shown that it could have been profitable, I would have began really working on my SEO and doing some link building, direct advertising, etc. I wouldn't have stopped PPC if it was being profitable for me either. A mixture of both would be ideal!

I think it's a kind of conception. Some guys want to make money with little invest and they have plenty of time to
use.So they never worry about how much time they will spend on the thing they are doing. Also maybe some guys
can't afford such invest. However, still a part of guys think ads is necessary invest and really matters. The more they
invest, the more they may get. Therefore,I think it's different way of doing business. If you can associate these two
methods together, maybe things will become easier.

Depends what you mean by paid traffic. You can advertise on other websites or with PPC services. Most businesses do that. That is paid traffic. I don't think you can call most businesses loosers.

    Exactly!

    .

First off, it is their, not there.

You ran across a bunch of contradicting idiots who do not know how to advertise.

"too lazy to go promote themselves"

Uh, buying traffic, advertising IS self promotion.

That's the problem with blogs and boards...too many dumbasses who don't know what they are talking about.

They are the ones with dead sites.

They say buying traffic does not work, yet they have dead sites. ... The ones who do buy traffic, advertises, and they know how to do it, has a lot of traffic.

    The irony makes me giggle.

It really depends on what sort of paid traffic.

Google is becoming so strict lately, that that sort of unnatural traffic might impact negatively on you. However, I think using google adwords to get traffic, isn't bad at all.

It take's effort to get that sort of traffic, as you need to do keyword research, etc.

Paid traffic is for people who know what they are doing...I you can grasp the concept of PPC without losing any money... then you are truly a winner, because most people do lose money with PPC...these are the real losers

Free traffic can also be good, once again if you know what you are doing...many people online give advice because they heard it from someone else...you would be surprise of how many so called experts that are not making any money online....

I recommend article marketing as a free form of advertising to build backlinks to your website....that has work for me

Paid traffic is not bad at all if its targeted. If I spend $10 dollars to get traffic and I can earn $50 from it, I would say thats the way to go.
