You'd be suprised Paullie. If the advertiser want's a direct market to money spending consumers with payment methods then surely they will. There's a better chance of spending less to reach these consumers who gauranteed have a way to pay for things than wasting thousands of dollars on google adsense for the same results. If your product is crap you'll make no money either way. If it's good why spend thousands when for far less you can reach a direct consumer market. It all depends on how you view things and just how good your product is as an advertiser as well as how in demand it is.

    I believe they are misleading.

As someone who signed up for a program (without knowing it was PTC), I could tell by the user activity that it was not NORMAL user behavior.

Consequently PTC is in my opinion worthless traffic. I am actually going to leave unused funds with this advertiser rather than do harm to my websites and standing with my Advertisers via this misleading Business Model.

I do not understand how this is a misleading or fraudualent business model. It is simple. I agree these sites can be bad and you have to have the right kind of site to do things. In all honesty though there is nothing wrong with it. I pay someone to bring traffic to my site. If the users have alexa installed among many different things then that will help you in SEO.

There are many things you can use PTC site for. In general though do not expect a return from it.

    It's misleading on many levels:

    1) Most people advertise to promote their site to either:
    a) sell a product
    b) provide information
    c) sell advertising

People who are paid to click don't care about any of these things. Therefore it's worthless traffic (ie when you pay for something that has no value, many people would consider that a scam.)

If someone is willing to spend time clicking on ads for cents (more likely less), I'm questioning how much disposable income they actually have to pay for a "non vital" product or service of any value.

Your right, I'd be very surprised.

Many people also are bored and have time on their hands. What about the people who buy up the referrals? Is that not disposable income?
You have to think outside the box.

PTC is not scam. The problem is that many noobs can create a PTC site without effort, and they turn into scams. PTC traffic is usefull for many things, IF you buy at the right source ofcourse.

    Scam....

1.There are a lot of these sites appear and disappear!!! Earning of members is less or they wait for the payout for life!!!
    2. Advertisers who pay them will generate artificial traffics which no economic benefits because visitors visit the site due to incentive...not interest
    3. Google don't like this kind of sites...If you have Adsense a/c....be carefull:D

What does zango have to do with ptc sites???

These "paid to click" sites now have a bad name because of all the ones that went bust and left all its members unpaid. However, not ALL of them are dishonest, so its not really fair to the good ones out there.

Taketheglobe is a good one, as is Neobux, and the one I run myself for the past year, but its the person running these sites that make the difference, and not the concept itself. If you have a good admin then you'll have a good site.

And there ARE many good uses for PTC traffic too. Some people buy it simply to boost their Alexa, while others are promoting a good CPA offer or something that appeals to people trying to make money working from home in their spare time, as those are the people who become members of these sites.

    Don't dismiss its potential...

I have to say that there are some real bad PTC sites.. But again there are good ones - being a guy who loves PTC sites, I do have a look at the ads that they are giving me..As many of you pointed out that visitors visit for incentive - thats true, but some of them could turn out to be really intersted in your product.. you are already giving out thousands of dollars for google, yahoo, msn etc to advertise your product - so why not try out some PTC sites.. They could reach far more people than you could with google or others..

Taketheglobe wen't on a scam spree in december last year. Neobux is good, together with some "aurora script" sites. Most of the others are pure ponzi hyips.
