Paid subscriptions, what do you offer?

I was wondering what admins offer to members with paid subscriptions.
I don't use it on my boards (yet) but i've seen posts where they mention the paid subscriptions.
    Just being curious :)

We have paid subscriptions on our forum.
we offer them: scripts, video tutorials (c++, java) most of them are all made by me. My members like it and are willing to pay for it.

tutorials like how to create applictions such as a network game, AI, loading menu's, GUI building in general and advaced using awt/swing, code optimization & tips. embedded java with microcontrollers to run your own webbased webserver etc

My members like what i make and they are willing to ay for it. So far im not complaining.

usually access to some locked areas of a forum, added abilities (like showing a sig, or avatar), maybe email account...

what type of forum is it?

    Thanks for the replies :)
It's for my dutch automotive board.
How do you make them want access to the locked areas?

It's something simple i'd like to try to see how they respond to it.

I dont think access to locked threads in nesecary. Just a part of the forum, only them, and staff can see. I advise-

    -Extra PM space
    -Allowed a/ larger Avatar
    -Allowed Signuature
-Have a private area in the forum
-Send them a monthly newsletters about all the information going on in the industry (Automotive) and extra info.
-The satisfaction of helping the forum to grow.

These are all the things that I reccomened to you. Charger $3- $5 per month, and things should go fine.

I dont like paid subscriptions, I just take donations, even had a nice fellow donate $100 bucks one time.

If people like your site they will donate a few bucks if they got some extra money.

What is wrong with that, members get more facilities on the board and it helps get money in for the board, so you do not have to have those annoying ads!

I used to own a forum, but not any more, for Paid Subscriptions, I offer extra resources and things like powers to change your title and close your OWN topics. A lot of people donated for those resources!

all that stuff is useless IMO. as long as members can participate in a forum, that's all that matters :)

Things like closing threads, changing your user title, more PMs, other little benefits, etc. Doesn't seem like much, but some members will subscribe. :)
