Paid Search Engines, which one?

Today I stumbled upon a thread in DP saying that you can get paid to search using Ask.com. A search on this here brought up a thread about a similar service for Yahoo Search too. I have been once fooled by a paid to browse site once. Hence I just wanted to ask about the truth in this. Has anyone been ever paid by any of these sites? If so, which of these is better paying, Ask.com or Yahoo.com search promotion? I am a heavy surfer and couldn't think of living without Google for a single day. But, if these stories are true, then I think it is worth to try it. :)

Aragorn, the service you're referring to is something called Homepages Friends (HPF). HPF uses Yahoo! to deliver its search results. Up until about 2 months ago it was called My Search Funds, which initially used Ask and then Google to deliver its search results.

I am using HPF and I'm so far impressed. It pays slightly more than 2 pence per search. In total I'm only making maybe 30-40 pence per day, but I know one of my referrals has been knocking out 80+ searches every day for the past month, which equates to just short of £2 daily.

I have written a Homepages Friends review, which explains how the program works and highlights both negative and positive points. You might find it interesting.

If you like what you read please feel free to sign up!

Paid to browse or search - engines would be a failure. All the engine would get is folk not doing legitimate searching to get their commission. Advertisers would find out about the fake searches and withdraw from the program.

It should always be free to search.

This isnt a problem for homepages friends, they have more than 40 systems in place to flag up any suspicious searching activity.

It's simple search fairly and get paid fairly, or cheat the system and the system will ban you.
