Having sitewide links from other sides is unlikely to affect your site. Unless done in an extremely spammy way, incoming links won't harm a site. Sites that offer scripts like articledashboard.com have sitewide links from 1000's of sites. These sites seem to be doing well in SERP's. OP's concern is about selling links to other sites.
People buy them because they need visitors to click on their ads. 0 visitors = 0 earnings. Some people do not care about what google thinks, they just want to have steady visitors who keep on coming to their sites in order to continue generating income from these sites.
Actually Google hate PAID LINKS, actually you should keep in mind that no should know (except customers) that you sell links or your links, or if some one makes complaints to Google through google webmaster tools, then there will be Problem !! so better not to give links in BST link sale thread or face PR Fall
Hmm...I wonder if Google has any employees here or pays anyone to detect those who are selling or buying links? LOL! It is actually easy for them to detect if they want to.
Hi I would advise a bit of caution here. Google could penalise you seriously, are the benefits outweighing the risk factor? Paul
Google has it's own algorythms. That's why it is the leading search engine - because of (almost) spam free results. Also, as for your second point, why do you think that we should not link to adult or gambling sites? Google has nothing against those and I too. Gambling is only illegal in USA, but not in Europe. Also, adult sites are everywhere and I see nothing bad in linking to them... As for the MFAs - same thing. As long as it provides useful and unique information, where's the problem?
Baclinks determine the popularity of your site. If you have sitewide link from higher PR site and if that site has X number of pages then you will get X number of backlinks from that site. Because of this your site will more chance to get higher PR. But i think getting paid links is against google's TOS.
Hiiii Dont go for paid links!!!!!!! Some of the paid link directory makes automated clicks!!!!!! for their popularity!!!! So do "free one way links" with relevent category and with the same theme!!!! regards sumesh
Just in case I wasn't making myself clear guys, a webmaster from a closely related site want to pay me to put 2 links on my site. I'm not buying the links. I think his aim is to increase his page rank and not particularly traffic as the links really aren't prominent enough to attact attention. I was surprised at all the responses, so thank you for your imput, but it seems that some of the advice was for some one who was thinking about buying links and some of it was about how my site would be affected if i sold the odd link here and there, which is what i was really after. Thanks again Kerrie
i have had experience with paid links. Not worth it because I basically bought.... trashed links that were not detected by google bots.
You should not leave any footprints on your website to indicate that the links are paid. So, do not use any text like 'Sponsored Links' or 'Buy a link' etc. And keep the sites related to your theme. Keep the external links below 10.
