CPM payment is mostly only done when an advertiser selects your site for "site specific" advertising. This means that they select to have their ads displayed on your site.

So keeping advertisers happy with a high CTR and conversion is the best way of getting them to come back for more.

How Can I differentiate. Do I have money from clicks or impressions?
I had ads run on site, but don't know how google paid me for that. Did I get money from clicks only?

it depends ..sometimes when you see ure stats..and see that there are zero clikcs and still some earning..that is prolly coz of CPM ads..remember most of the time CPM ads are displayed on ure site either coz the advertiser directly wanted to advertise on ure site or ..site targeting as mentioned before..or cause of exceptional high traffic..since CPM ads are Per 1000 Impressions..im not sure abt the last one thogh..

Does anyone have some exampled of how much CPM pays? I was going to add "advertise on this site" but then I saw that it is CPM and figured I'd be better off with ppc since I only get a couple thousand impressions a day on the site I was planning to add it.

Conventional cpm can be pretty low .10-.15 per thou does google charge a minimum cpm for site targeted ads?

    Cheers

Sitetargeted campaigns compete with normal campaigns so if one pays only 0,75 $ for 1000 impressions doesn't meen that you will recieve only 0,75 for 1000 imp.

Paolo: Yes when someone clicks "advertise on this site" the refferrer's site is the one for which campaign is prepared for.

In AdWords if you want to do CPM you type in a keyword and it will give you a list of sites and traffic numbers for you to choose from.

Basically you can't be sure you've got paid on a CPM bases unless you see earnings for a period, but no clicks. The eCPM only refers to your earnings/1000 page views, it does not mean you received ads on a CPM bases.

So, for example only, if I have a site that on a monthly average earns the equivelent of $15.00/eCPM on a PPC basis, then the person choosing to run a cpm campaign probably has to bid higher then that in order for google to run their ad instead of PPC ads.

That sounds reasonable if that's the case. I guess I should search the adWords forum here and see what advertiser say about the matter.

How does your pay per imp income compare to your pay per click income? Which one is more beneficial to you?
