I don't have a list at hand. But try the "Search" function above. There are a number of existing posts on directories with deep links.
this is a deep link directory list from DC, http://directorycritic.com/deep-links-directory-list.html
how can you get a site on that list?I have a page strength of 3.5, pr4 site that offers deeplinks as well as lots of good linkbuilding
This is a bog standard list doing the rounds, with a few changes here and there, with posters adding their own directories to it no doubt. Well let's take a look anyway, ok the first thing I noticed is the charges that some of these are asking - most are charging between $30 & $50, and other are just having a laugh to see how much they can get away with. Question is whether one will really benefit from submitting to this lot, something deep within me says most listed here won't deliver much and many nothing at all, so in other words its a crap-shoot or a roll of the dice. There may or may not be some link juice here, but personally I don't have the time to investigate all these individually, and I probably know the answer to this anyway. But for those who are interested, it will only cost you £3'509.63 to submit to all these, (and that's just the lower fees), so go for it. Me, I'd rather put that cash into PPC or into website development. That is a crap load of cash to spend on directories and I'd maybe select a couple of the most popular and leave it at that. If you notice BOTW $239 and Uncoverthenet $199, now although they have an air of quality about them, it's really quite a cheek for them to charge the same and more than Yahoo and they clearly aren't at that level. Some are so charging more than they are worth, and that's crazy. I think I bought a link from one of the above and never got anything from it, so there you go. I suggest not paying more than $30 for directory links, unless they are sponsored, it's just to risky otherwise for a basic link, with no guarantee of the right traffic, never mind traffic coming from the right country.
Since when has yahoo been the benchmark? Perhaps BOTW is charging the right price and Yahoo is under charging.
check out my climbing4kids.info directory. deeplinks are also accepted as regular listings. it is pr2, 9 months old, very strong directory.
I don't even think Yahoo directory is a bench mark, but because the directory is attached to Yahoo search (on the same site), it gives the directory potentially big traffic. Now whether that traffic is targetted for yahoo link advertisers is another question, and a big one that needs exploring. I really think BOTW is over charging here, as are so many others. I mean they are only general directories here, and that's not enough to justify an extra $170. What results would you get for that extra $170 if you spent it on PPC or went niche with it..... I'd say more for your money.
PPC doesn't give you a very strong backlink though does it? I agree with you on the fees charged - I don't have any reason to pay for it as I don't think it's worthwhile.
Ofcourse not, because the links placed on PPC are a temporary thing, and PPC is the placing of adverts and used for a different result. Where buying of links is more like paying for a permanent link, that doesn't run out/use up, after a time period has elapsed. PFI vs PPC..... Adverts are for actual selling, where links are for 'finding things'. Ok you can have line/display adverts, but some don't do the job and relies on a directory's technology for the text/words to work. Too many worry about backlinks and the amount they have, when should be worried about being found and selling what they have.
Take a look at my sig for deep link directories where the deep links actually get indexed. Believe me, there are a lot of directories out there where there is little to no chance the deep links pages will ever be seen by the se. Just a little heads up.
