I was listening to a tutorial recommended by another poster that said that every site should be submitted to 15 paid directories. Would the rest of you say that's an accurate statement? Which paid directories are the best? I read that Alive and Aviva used to be good, but that they were hit hard in the last google shakeup. What criteria should be used to choose the best paid directories to use at this time? Is there a frequently updated listing of directories where they are listed according to rank?
I check things other than PR/google. Look at things like backlinks. If a site has 2 million backlinks like alive directory, even a PR0 page would bring good results. I also check for editorial integrity. Do they accpet every site submitted, or do they only accept quality sites and re-write descriptions of submitted sites and use proper titles - not keyword stuffed ones. I always submit to paid directories. Most free directories have around 100 backlinks, if that. Therefore the time it takes to submit to free directories isn't always worth the value it brings. A site like aviva or alive directory with hundreds of thousands of backlinks will bring great results. mike
