Paid Directory Listings

Hi

What do you think of paid directory listings are they worth the money?

Also i have added a featured link option to my PR3 directory for 4.95 for a 1 year link. Is this price appropriate for the time frame?

If anyone can give some feedback i would like to hear it.

You should have split this into 2 different post. But to answer the first question, it all depends on how much you value your own site. If you want faster results and links that are a little more trust worthy then paid directories should work just fine for you.

 

4.95 seems very reasonable. Yeh, paid directory submission is useful, but not to just any old directory! As well as looking at PR, there are also other factors to consider. The directory should have a reasonable amount of quality control, so that there are not loads of porn, gambling, and viagra links for example. Often paid directories are better than free directories because asking for a fee, even a small one, seriously helps filter out those spammy and 'dodgy' sites that you don't want yours to be associated with, keeping the directory clean and fresh with only quality content.

 

Check out this link price calculator. It says you should be charging a lot more based on your high alexa rating. If your traffic is coming from search engines and not just webmasters then I think the 4.95 a year is a fantastic price.

 

personally i have found quality backlinks to be more useful than directory submission

In addition to my original question, i think its a good deal to i have not seen an offer as cheap. But people don't seem to be buying thats why i though i might be doing something wrong. Do you guys have some thoughts on why this is.

 

Using the right paid directories can be a very effective strategy.

 

You have a dropped domain there. Nothing relavant to a web directory. You have just did what people do on PR domain.

A intelligent submitter will never consider a submission no matter the price.
