One of my clients has given me a budget to submit his site into a few paid directories (i've already done loads of free ones). Anybody give any good suggestions as to which directories to use.

I've got the list below but some of the information seems a little out of date.

    http://www.best-web-directories.com/paid-directories.htm

Any advice for other good/bad directories would be appreciated. The site is related to team building and events. The company is based in the UK.

Man...with the beating paid directories have been taking I can't think of any that would be on my "must submit" list. I started a new siet over the weekend and the only paid directory I'm submitting it to is Yahoo.

Others that get honorable mention include UTN and wow....with wow being the best bet of the two imo.

Bob Mutch has a comprehensive and up-to-date list at:
    http://www.seocompany.ca/directory/web-directories.html

While GuyFromChicago is right that a few paid directories have (IMHO unfairly on the part of Google) taken a beating in Google, paid directories still are a good deal. Even if 10% of them get whacked (and the number is not that high), you still get a huge number of links on relevant pages for a good price. And even the one that get whacked by Google still will help your rankings in Yahoo and MSN.

All good points and well said. I submit to all paid directories for that very reason (unless there's a reason not to submit, of course).

Bob Mutch's directories suffer from linking to same site too much from same pages. Many pr 5 s are now not even indexed. All pages link to one or more sites many times. For Y or Msn maybe not a big problem but for G it is.
