Paid Directories and Press Releases

Does anyone here consistently use Paid Directory submissions for new site launches? If so, which ones have you found to work the best?

Also, when it comes to press releases, I have used the free release option on many sites...does anyone utilize their paid submissions? Like PR.com for instance?

    Thanks in advance,
    Jeff

Many of my clients use the paid submissions on press release sites to good effect. Most (with a news worthy release!) have been contacted by journalists using paid services. There is little chance of that with a poor release though.

I think using services such prweb.com will be good enough. And there are some people who say that submitting to so many directories is just a waste of time (money). But you may still want to submit your site to some "trusted" directories such as dmoz.

Paid Directories at one time were good but today, the links you get back are not very good. I think it is a waist of time and money.

As for Press Releases, use Prweb or one of the main ones. But it will get expensive if you are doing this just for links.
