Suggestion paid bumping

Hi, I know that there is a free 7-day bump for premiums and 30-day bump for free members. How about paid bump? I wouldn't mind paying $10 or so for a bump since posting "update" will not bring thread to the top and most likely earn you an infraction.

    Your thoughts?

It's been suggested before, and the biggest obstacle is that vBulletin doesn't currently have a mechanism to sell anything beyond subscriptions so would require us to pretty much code the whole system from scratch (including payment processing). It *is* something that is on the "to-do" list, but at this point it's not a huge priority.. I keep hoping a version of vBulletin will have an internal mechanism to sell things so make the work to build it far less.

Please tell me if you do make bumping "paid" that you'll keep the premium and regular member free bumps (7/30 days)

It wouldn't change anything we already have in place. It would simply be a way that people could get additional bumps if they REALLY want/need to.

Ok. :) +1 for that idea then... But I think $10 is pretty steep... Maybe $5?

The fee should depend on what page the thread is being bumped from. The longer you wait the cheaper it gets.

If the charge is kept too low... I guess there would be too many people buying it, making it ineffective! :(

Or you can use something like .. All who want to bump will pay at one place and then PM moderator to bump the thread they want to. :)

Well, then this could take a while to get thread bumped.

Pm-ing a moderator would just make the whole process cumbersome and the mods won't like it a bit, either.

Or, it could be a paid subscription.. Like you'll have X number of bumps for Y days/months/year

It'd be nice for the forum but cheaper the price, more better and large will be the funds.

I might be off-topic here but why not a thread by Shawn telling us, "Whats next for DP?"
