Very good post, and you are fortunate enough to be in the position you are in. But not everybody can say 'screw you' to google as they rely on search position and PR for income

you are wrong and thank you

however, i don't earn alot from my sites, I earn more from trading and that's my living. however, the few months i decided to do this thing of online websites. I have learnt a few things

I not LUCKY, there are time's I write then I can't type after. That's not luck it's hard work. I was typing for google but changed my mind to type for what I like.

I have found one common denominator for those that look for high pr, they sell sites here at dp .I know that's a good business too but, I think if I continue writing what I like , everything else will take care of itself. In the meantime, why stick with something that's not working for me. Let's take a simple example.

You write 2 posts a week for 90 days in your blog. You will be in or above pr 3 . Get 6 text link ads for 20 bucks and that's $120 per month and likely to improve. Or concentrate on adsence then they ban you in the morning? I believe in hard work for yourself not hard work for google and trust me, that guy was paid for his post.

let's not forget , google algorathim is based on finding a link and saying 100 sites linked to it and so it is good. Now ppp's found a weak link and they are going to take advantage of it. The find the 'good' link part is google's problem not mine. Ppp's are here to stay as long as that's the basis for google. I don't know what is next, but someone does, and as long as pr's are based on how many sites say your site is good, ppp's are here to stay.

ppp's are good things for everyone and don't be surprised to find google buying one of them this year.

I guess I'm one of those lone cowboys out there not on the "G" dime. I have removed all of their adsense from my sites to focus merely on pure affiliate work and haven't looked back since.

And I do a pretty good amount of sales through other networks of paid blogging, so Google can have all the rest of you guys by the short hairs...not me.

Content and hard work are king not looking over your shoulder for the dreaded "ban" email.

Exactly! That's what I thought too. Google feels insecure with this pad to post.

So if you do think you could earn more by writing great posts, f**k google... go for it! You could submit your posts to many SB sites, ppl will bookmark your blog and visit it regularly, so why should you be worried about SERPs?

    Just my 2 cents though.

No, just make sure that you clearly indicate a post's sponsorship, like with a graphic that's human readable

How does it differ to get paid from posting to plastering your sidebar with sponsor's ads for pay? No diff and if the sidebar ads aren't penalized, why should PPP and others of that ilk be?

Don't know who's more full of *h** this Matt fellow, or Google.

They're just upset that they didn't think of it first. ;)

If you choose to run your business as a slave to Google, then that's a shame. Personally, my PR goes up dramatically more when I don't worry about Google or building backlinks... I just write content that people actually want to link to, and they do it on their own. I also make more on my sites where I don't worry about SEO in the slightest. I have the benefit of having a marketing / PR background, so I know how to get traffic from other places (especially word of mouth), but frankly, anyone can do it with a little bit of effort. This is precisely why you shouldn't launch a business venture that relies solely or mostly on someone else's business decisions. If Google wants to dig their own grave over time, let them. You certainly don't have to suffer in the process though.
